He has previously served as Music Director of First Christian Church of Katy and is currently Music Director of The Cathedral of Hope in Houston. He has participated in workshops sponsored by the Omega Institute and led by Claude Stein, a holistic voice coach in New York. Since then he has committed himself to providing delighted support in helping people unleash the power of their voices through the Joyful Singing 101 workshops and Joyful Singing 102 classes, which he facilitates. Tony has performed with the Third Coast Comedy improv troupe and employs improvisational techniques in his work with his voice students. He was a cast member of Third Coast Comedy’s show, “Broadway on the Bayou, which played at Third Coast Comedy’s theater in northwest Houston and at the Sage Theatre on Times Square in New York. Tony has played piano, keyboards and organ professionally since his teen years and has practiced law in the energy business for over thirty years.  He has also studied voice with Dr. Randolph Lacy and currently studies with Charles Dotson.

SOFIA ALVIM, Assistant and Co-Facilitator

Sofia has been an avid lover of singing and music since childhood, and some of her fondest memories were spent singing with her mother in the car after school and on long road trips.

As a child, Sofia loved performing in any capacity but around the age of 8, she developed fear around singing and performing in front of others. This lasted for most of her life and just before turning 30, she decided it was time to conquer this fear once and for all and truly reclaim her voice and her power.

After participating in her first Joyful Singing 101 workshop in May of 2009, she became committed to continuing the process of working through her fear and bringing more and more joy into the process of singing.

The workshop and classes have helped her continue on her path of self-discovery through song and she loves to assist others in doing the same.

Sofia is also a NAPO Professional Organizer who owns and operates Sofia’s Organizing Solutions, helping home & business owners to simplify, streamline and organize their lives for increased quality of life. For more information, visit www.sofiasorganizingsolutions.com
